Register to take part in a hands-on Fermentation Basics Workshop with Holly Simpson, of West Farm, Jeffersonville, on October 12, 11 AM, right here at The Farm Store.
Holly Simpson began fermenting vegetables in 2007. She then went on to apprentice at Three Stone Hearth in 2008, a Community Supported Kitchen in Berkley, CA that provides nutrient-dense, Weston A. Price type foods for their members. There, she learned the process on a more industrial scale. Holly has attended many workshops on fermentation including some taught by Sandor Katz, fermentation guru and author of Wild Fermentation. She now produces small batch ferments for a small CSA, a farmer’s market and for The Farm Store and is in the process of expanding her operation.
About this Workshop:
- Learn the basics of fermenting vegetables.
- Create a delicious side dish of fermented, salted and seasoned vegetables.
- Leave with a jar of your fresh-made kimchi.
- Resources, tools and supplies will be provided.
